I'm a Staff Software Engineer building an incentives marketplace. We have facilitated more than $9M in TPV and have ~100k monthly active users.
In my nights and weekends I run a venture studio that builds D2C apps and CPG products.
Once a month I host events as the co-founder of AI Builders Mexico, the go-to AI community in CDMX. We produce events with Cursor, v0 by Vercel and Google Deepmind. See you at our next event.
Once a quarter I angel invest in early stage startups and I selectively provide fractional CTO and recruitment services for the right partners. Reach out if this interests you.
In a former life you'd know me as the co-owner of a recording studio, head of bd for a merch+brand production facility, talent manager for artists, and board member of Scraper Bikes - all in Oakland, CA.
In an even older life you'd know me as the founder of the Meiflower Foundation, a non-profit I started when I was 17. We worked in Ningxia, China in 2013-2015 to distribute educational scholarships and microfinance loans. We also financed computer labs, drinking wells, and medical clinics. I learned and failed a lot.
I lift heavy in the gym and am a tryhard in my Spanish classes.
I find happiness in playing sports, reading science fiction, eating spicy food, hanging out with my dog + friends, and playing/listening to music. I like to sing corridos tumbados. I consume content on Arxiv, NYT, Youtube, and X. I do the crossword (unsuccessfully) daily.
I recently enjoyed Sapiens, On the Edge by Nate Silver, the Dialectics Podcast, and the Almanack of Naval Ravikant.
I'm active on X where I not only shitpost but also share my learnings as a builder and test my worldview.
I ponder the singularity, geopolitics, dark factories, artificial embryos, and humanoids. I think a lot about agency, sovereignty, e/acc, and leverage.
I think abstractly, am good at de-coupling, and elect to play infinite games. In general the only zero-sum games I play are chess and poker. I sometimes trade.
I unsuccessfully attended school at Harvard and UC Berkeley - applied mathematics, probability theory, and data science.
I've lived in many places: Los Angeles, Shanghai, Oakland, Taipei, Colombia, and now Mexico City.
